How is your project going?

Traveling and camp sound like a good break for the parties though.Jeanettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16950165740757334632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091513986491113060.post-85344436697962756852009-01-29T23:31:00.000+09:002009-01-29T23:31:00.000+09:00It's so good to hear from you! Yesterday I took Clay to the DMV to get his driver's permit (he passed), and Linc and I had to wait while he took the test and did the paperwork. So I pulled a balloon that Aunt Amanda gave me out of my bag and blew it up... and Linc had a ball! He was batting it around, and a bunch of other people waiting there started to smile and laugh, and even play with him when it bounced towards them. I felt like I'd done a good deed!

I'm sure Wiley misses you. He looks under the desk when you do vidchat with us. He's doing pretty well for an old dog, but I think our next house needs to have fewer stairs... he's having a hard time on them. He can still jump into the van, but it's hard on him, so we're getting him a little stepstool. He's getting cataracts but will still play ball and run around if you wind him up. Cil is getting old, too... he licked off a bunch of his fur last fall, and looked pretty ragged for a while, until we figured out that he'd developed an allergy to foods with any grain in them (which is almost all of them, except this one super-expensive type). He's starting to grow back his fur now, and acting happier. We got a little kitty bed that looks like a donut, and he curls up in a kitty ball in it all the time.

Did you really eat that egg? I know you're not a big fan of plain eggs under the best of circumstances... a black, sulfurous one must have been quite a challenge for you!

You seem to be passed from tutor to tutor a lot. Are you playing Hot Patutor?

You were on the radio?! Is there audio of it anywhere? Was it in English or Japanese?

Linc has a little storybook about that bean ceremony, sounds like fun. Did you eat 21 of 'em?

Thanks for posting! I can't tell you how happy I am to hear from you. Don't worry about the raw thing... it's awesome to hear anything!mamagotchahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02023523603288429407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091513986491113060.post-66754767736051263652009-01-29T03:37:00.000+09:002009-01-29T03:37:00.000+09:00Yay, new posts! When I was in KC, Wiley kept follow...Yay, new posts!

When I was in KC, Wiley kept following me around the house and curling up at my feet wherever I went. I bet he misses you too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091513986491113060.post-63899077337925951432009-01-29T02:11:00.000+09:002009-01-29T02:11:00.000+09:00Re: 12/27/08You mention taking the train to Sappor...Re: 12/27/08
You mention taking the train to Sapporo, but make no mention of the eighteen kilometers of water you have to cross to get from the main island to Hokkaido. Was that traversed through a tunnel, a bridge, or a boat?

I hope you have a picture of the UFO grabber that drove you nuts. :)

Re: 1/28/09
This date seems out of order with the sequence of the journal... was this December 28th?

Re: New Year's Eve
Holidays are created from the fabric of family and friends... there isn't much special about them otherwise... just another day, no matter how big the holiday.

Re: 1/4/09
"Threw my back out"... this sounds uncomfortably familiar. Regular stretching and exercise... juggle more... its not just a showing off activity! :)

Re: 1/22/09
A handicap appropriate for 3d vs 11k is kind of hard to manage... it is perfectly believable that you made some minor repairs to your position that prevented them from killing as many groups as they needed to. Besides... they are hoping your rank will increase so they don't have to give such a large handicap next time!

Re: 1/26/09
That sounds like good news!

Re: 1/27/09
I never heard of Setsubun... apparently is supposed to be the day before the start of one of the four seasons, which in a logical way happens approximately halfway between the equinoxes and solstices. The spring edition is most popular as a festival... kind of a Groundhog-Day-like anticipation thing I guess.Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02644091127425632400noreply@blogger.com
